🚨 Post-Event Reality Check

Yeah… F. Guys, F F F. Our post-event marketing strategy didn’t work. At all. Crap.

After the last LexFuel Breakfast, I had this vision of a slick follow-up programme: physical packs, leave-behinds, landing pages, the whole shebang. But what did we actually get? Sweet F.A.

The truth is simple. Sending physical post is a waste of time now—people don’t work in offices anymore and asking for someone’s home address feels off. The landing page I thought would light up? Complete tumbleweed. And here’s the kicker: being self-obsessed doesn’t work. People don’t care until they need help, and a sticker or postcard isn’t going to change that. Add to that the fact that merch fatigue is real—everyone gets free stuff, so ours didn’t stand out—and the value of the event itself quickly overshadowed anything we tried to do after.

So where do we go from here? Well, we’ve had our moan, now we iterate. The plan is simple: digitise the leave-behinds and get them out fast, before the buzz fades. Focus on content that actually matters short videos, case studies, benchmarks, workbooks.

Keep follow-up coffee chats tight and use them as feedback loops. And above all, stop worrying about shiny gimmicks. Be blunt, be practical, deliver value.

The lesson here is clear: the value isn’t in the gimmicks, it’s in staying close, staying relevant, and giving people something they can actually use. What a waste of time last time. This time? We get it right.

(And yes, I’m still blaming you lot.)

Any way much love
