Simple one today, ladies and gents.
You really need to stop optimising everything and start doing the hard shit that takes a fricking age.
Since starting DealTechno, I see this more and more the longer the business has been around.
Early days? Everyone does the hard stuff.
Founders sell.
They show up.
They chase.
They get told “no” a lot and crack on anyway and i mean ALLOT
Then something predictable happens
Process appears.
Dashboards multiply.
And now AI’s piled in and absolutely torched automation and tech-enabled sales.
Everyone’s sequences are “personalised”.
Everyone’s decks are “tailored”.
Everyone’s outreach looks different and somehow all exactly the same.
The result?
Buyers are numb AND DONT GIVE A FUUUU
So here’s the only ROI calculation I actually use:
Me, in a room, with a phone.
Does the thing I’m about to do deliver a better return than that?
And yes a steak with a Yank in London absolutely does.
Why?
Because you’re building something AI can’t touch:
An in-person, tangible relationship.
Trust.
Context.
Memory.
If your pipeline isn’t moving, it’s rarely because the system is wrong.
It’s because the human bit has been quietly fucked off.
So yes keep your tools.
Keep your process.
But every now and then, close the laptop, get off your arse, and go meet people.
That’s still where the leverage is.
MUCH LOVE
Rob
