LexFuel: $387,500...

Ay-up.

It Hit me - my god that meeting this afternoon cost me $12,500 GRAND. - or if you are watching MobLand for eerrrr Tom Hard - that will be 12 Bags.

Let me rolle it back:

Midway through a chat with a Head of Legal Ops (a meeting that cost me $12,500 from a conference and is currently our only decent lead).

I realised something sobering = other than don’t F this up Bob.

If this was our only option to hit a $Mill in revenue it’s going to cost me: $387,500

Let that land.

Selling LegalTech is in a really weird moment right now. Buyers are way more educated than they were 15 years ago. The market’s more mature. Roles like Legal Ops exist.

But the dating game to just get that first meeting? Brutal. And getting worse.

Honestly, I don’t know what’s worse:→ A more discerning buyer who won’t take a meeting→ Or a clueless one who’ll jump on a call but will buy something in 4 years (Still my reccord - cheers BT).

Meanwhile, the “Gurus” are all saying we need to be omnipresent:Conferences. Thought Leadership. Email Automation. SDRs. AI SDRs. Paid Ads.(For what it’s worth, my ads are currently doing sweet F.A and costing $2k a month)

My first job in the space was at an M&A tech company.

I cold-emailed the Head of M&A at Shell. Got a meeting that day. Coffee next day. Sold him a data room the week after.

No warm-up sequences. No deliverability issues. No Spam Folder hell - and oh yes Corproates now have a special folder for us..

Different times.

But we're still here. Still pushing. Still selling. Still figuring it out.

Much love.
